1) Fashion - DO YOUR OWN THING! Dress for your figure and comfort level, not other expectations. Trust me on this - if you wear jeans and a tee and ratty old converse everday, no one gets on your case. If you wear a clown wig or bright orange stilettos - they will. Just build your own style and go with it. At the end of the day, you are the only one whose opinions counts. And for the record -most guys don't give a damn what we wear - they see the $lutty outifits - but that is NOT the image you want.
2) People to Hang With - Those who are your friends! Those who share your interests. Join a club or and elective to make new friends. Hang out with people you like and people that make you feel good about yourself. Don't put on an image to impress a certain "group". You'll be miserable that way. Disregard popularity - it is a state of mind. Hand with who you want to.
3) Freshman year - I made friends with a lot of juniors and sophomores because I knew some and did sports with them. It's always a good idea to have older friends; they can be a help with crushes, homework, teachers etc; But also hang with those in your grade! Remember to go in there and NOT be nervous. YOu will have a hard time opening your locker. You will lose something. YOu will trip, make a fool of yourself. You will get in trouble. You will get made fun of.
BUT THAT IS PART OF THE RIDE!
Learn to love yourself and LAUGH at yourself. all those negative people, comments and events don't mean $hit in the long run. So as cliche as it is - be yourself and you will go farther than you ever will dream.
GOOD LUCK! It's nothing to be worried about...these are the "golden years". Enjoy them as much as you can!

First of all, being a freshman.
1) You gotta be yourself.
2) Whatever happens, don't lose your moral values. What's cool to others may just be plain shallow and may put you to danger (drugs, sororities, sex)
3) Don't trust anybody, only your friends. And make sure you choose the right people to be your friends.
4) Parties are superficial, your grades are more important.
5) Join organizations that have constructive activities.
6) Good luck. Enjoy it as much as you can.
The people to hang-out with:
Depends on your priority. If your the shallow, dumb kind who wants to be "cool", hang-out with the cheerleaders, you know what I mean? I'm not saying that you go with the geeks, but you gotta have a strong sense of individuality. You should know whom to trust and hang-out with. And those are the people who have a POSITIVE influence on you. Later on, you should develop a strong character in such a way that you should be the one to have positive influence on others and not the one being lead astray.
Fashion tips:
It depends where you are. For the first day of school, wear your best dress;) Because it's true that first impression lasts... so be pretty on your first day. But make sure your clothes aren't to "loud", you know what I mean? Trendy is always safe. But if you're not sure what to buy for your first day or what to wear, always bear in mind that simplicity is beauty, and safer too. Don't try to be too stylish that you would look like some "wann-be". Ok? And if these advise ain't enough, you can always ask a question again here in Y!:p

1. Most people wear abercrombie & Hollister at my school. DO NOT wear those long skirts or go for the boho look ew! Look preppy and you will blend right in...
2. Hang out with the people you feel comfortable with. Don't try to be someone you aren't. High School is a little different then Middle School - people do their own thing...
3. Freshmen - make friends with the junoirs, sophmores and seniors

1. check out whats in style& then add your own mix into it. i remember when i was in high school a few yrs ago, the style was looking like some type of californian cholos/cholas.& it was a big button down flannel shirt, baggy dress pants called "DICKIES" & gym shoes w/the "nike" sign called "CORTEZ". I wasn't really into the baggy look. So i wore a tight waist length t-shirt ,i had the "DICKIES", fitted to my body style & i wore the shoes. Back then....I looked GOOD!
2.Hang out with ppl you feel comfy with. Trust me, it WILL be hard figuring out whose your friend or not, but just try to go with your insticts.
3.As for Freshman, well, honestly, i didn't hang out with any. I went into high school knowing alot of ppl, mainly seniors and juniors. i suggest you get to know some of your upper class mates, and the freshmans will be begging you to be your friend. Trust me, its amazing the things ppl would do for you to get into the "cool" crowd
P.s. PLZ don't join any gangs! They will be interesting and fun, and their the ones with the cool cars and have the coolest parties but its the worst thing you can do. i made the mistake of joining and it was fun and crazy and dangerous and scary but it took a lot of time away from school. i had to do what they told me to, or else i wouldn't be able to physically get up and go to school (if you get my drift!) I got so into it & made so many enemies that i had to leave the school my sophmore year.
But you never know, maybe your high school isn't as bad as mine was & still is. & it didn't help that i lived in chicago (the 2nd most dangerous place to live)
You can make high school the best 4 years of your life......or the worst. Just choose wisely and consider the consequences of your actions.

Don't dress like everyone else. Be your own person and create your own style. Hang out with people with the same goals and interest as you. Just be yourself. Good Luck!
