ok you want a honest answer ill give you one, ive been to egypt 3 times ive a fiance there. who lives in cairo his sis and her husband live in alex. let me tell you. dont listen to half you hear or read please. if you did youll stay at home for the rest of your life and wont go any where. ok the men in egypt treat women with respect. they are decent people. they are very compliamentative. they will greet you in every shop. hold doors open for you. in all the times ive been there ive never been haggled. spoken down to. insulted. touched. nothing. full of respect just what a woman ordered. here in egypt i find theres more respect for people than what there is from people in my own country. you should go and see with your eyes. you will fall in love with this country. every thing about it is wonderful. and be sure to visit all the temples in luxor. dont miss a thing and take lots of pics. enjoy it..

Pretty much in any country they have been deluded with the White skin as the paramount of beauty. ..so yeah they'll probrably give you extra favors or hoot an holla. Though only in working class neighborhoods does this happen. All though this is Egypt not South America so they probrably won't care too much.

Ok,,,, here is the truth,, you should be fine anywhere you go,, the street vendors will always try to get you to buy something,, but there should not be any (hands on) type actions.....
I work in the Middle East ,, and they respect women there,,, now do Not dress like Britney Spears,, (half naked either) !!!!! that is No No,,,,,,you better listen.....nice pants or jeans and a nice shirt,, and no Skin.....

i've been there. they stare and if they're close enough, they will say something like "beautiful". some offered my parents camels for me. i mean, what would my parents do with camels in NYC? it's a nice place to visit esp. to see the sphinx and pyramids and ancient tombs and museums have a lot of ancient artifacts.

I am Egyptian man ,most of us looking with full respect to all tourists ,unfortunately you may heard (horse carriage driver ) shouting ! he is not educated ,only he want to invite you and your friends to ride on his carriage in loud voice before you go to another carriage ,I hope that clarified any loud voice you heard from any seller in the street during your visit to Egypt !
