Why not just staple the damn phone to their ear??? I hate it when I'm talking to a friend and she just has to answer that cell...

I do think it is very rude for a customer to be on the phone while they are in line. They wouldn't like the customer service person to be on the phone. It's all etiquette and some people just don't have ANY.

Maybe not with a stapler but it is very rude!! I usually get up and walk off and let them sit there for a while.

Absolutley. I work in retail and I find it inconsiderate of my time when someone does that . It's rude. IT's like cutting someone off in the middle of a coversation and starting one with someone else. I want to put up a sign that says Does this look like a cell phone factory?

That's hilarious, though probably illegal. It is very rude for a customer to answer a phone call when dealing with an employee and vice versa. Now that our lives are so portable, I think we feel that we don't need to adhere to common decency and respect to others, but we really do.

Ugh! It happens to me all the time- I deal with contractors and they are always getting called on their damn cell phones. I agree, I also agree that you should be allowed to karate chop one customer to the throat a day.

I DO! I had a lady on a cell tell me I was rude for trying to get her attention when she was next in my line. I won't even say what I wanted to do at that point!

Yes, but not a stapler, a frying pan.

Agreed! Circle gets a square! I also hate it when people are on their cell phones in the restroom. You are in public! Pee or talk, not both!

The customer may be an idiot, but the customer is the customer, and the customer is always right.
