So, I am very excited about the wedding but am very depressed that my dad wont be there. My pop-pop will (hopefully, god willing) take my dad's place at the wedding by walking me down the aisle and dancing with me at the reception. Please I need suggestions for a song that would be suitable for me and him rather than the traditional father/daughter. Thanks!!!

There was a song a few years ago called Butterfly Kisses...and since your Pop Pop has been there through the years and watched you grow into a lady, it might be a good song.
I too would have this situation when it comes to walking down the isle, I have thought about instead of pretending that my heart isn't aching about the loss and the "abscence" of my daddy, that I could have a tribute dance for him. Like maybe dancing one dance in honor of him. There is a song by Luther Vandross called Dance with my father, and I think I would like that played, and for it to be announced that this dance is in honor of him. That song speaks about how he used to dance with his mom and dad when he was a little boy, and how even though his father has passed away, he wishes he could have one more chance to dance with his father again.
You may not be ready for that yet...but either way, I hope it all works out for you...Good Luck! And Congratulations.

Luther Vandross Song called Dance With My Father
Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then spin me around 'til i fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me and I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I'd play a song that would never, ebr end
How I'd love, love, love to dance with my father gain
When I and my mother would disagree to get my way, I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I asleep he left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I'd play that song that would never, ever end
'Cause I'd love, love, love to dance with my father again
Sometimes I'd listen outside her door and I's hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I'm praying for much too much but could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don't do it usually but dear Lord she's dying
To dance with my father again

There was once a music in elementary terms some years in the past pronounced as Butterfly Kisses...And on condition that your Pop Pop has been there over the years and watched you improve right into a woman, it possibly a great music. I too might have this subject in terms of working down the isle, i've got suggestion approximately on the different hand of pretending that my coronary heart isn't aching on the subject of the loss and the "abscence" of my daddy, that i might have a tribute dance for him. Like possibly dancing one dance in honor of him. there's a music via Luther Vandross pronounced as Dance with my father, and that i think i might like that performed, and for it to be presented that this dance is in honor of him. That music speaks approximately how he used to bounce at the same time along with his father and mom whilst he grew to become right into slightly boy, and how despite if his father has gave up the ghost, he needs he might have yet another possibility to bounce at the same time along with his father lower back. you heavily isn't in a position for that yet...yet the two way, i desire all of it works out for you...superb good fortune! And Congratulations.

I danced with my father to "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. I think it would be a fitting song to dance to with your grand-dad. Congrats!!!
