Good point! Indeed where are they supposed to go? Are they supposed to flee their homeland and come to Europe to suffer nasty comments and attacks from racists? I think not! I watched the news on RTE1 last night? According to an Israeli spokesperson (Woman whose accent was more US than anything else) She feels sorry for the 430 civilians killed in Lebanon, Israel war is not against the people in Lebanon but Hezbollah. I must be really thick because from what i see and hear, Hezbollah is only an excuse, they won't stop until the whole of the middle east renounces their birth rights. Having said that, dropping leaflets must be better than missiles!

There are still 7000 Hezbollah rockets in southern Lebanon. Many of them are hidden in caves and will require a ground search to find them.

The more civilians are out of the area, then the fewer of them get accidentally killed. Remember, Hezbollah people and civilian people look just alike. Hezbollah do not wear uniforms like civilized soldiers do.

Israelis are very civilized. They wear uniforms and they drop warning leaflets. Hezbollah are terrorists. They blend with civilians and give no warnings.

Further north, away from the fighting. Israel aren't interested in taking over Lebanon, but you can't expect them to sit and do nothing while their citizens are being shelled. It is a tragedy that so many civilians have died, but Israel is not deliberately targeting them. This has been brought on the people of Lebanon by Hesbollah, not Israel. I'm not Israeli, incidentally.

They've been doing that for about a week or so, I guess they're supposed to go north... I wondered the same thing about the poor people in Louisiana, New Orleans. I heard the Taxi drivers they are charging about 400$ for a trip to Beirut, about 40times the normal price.

I couldn't tell you. But they need to get away, Israel's war isn't against Lebanon, it's against Hezballah. A huge portion of Lebanon supports Hezballah, and these people are getting screwed in the mist of it all. It's a matter of life and death...you either leave or you put yourselves in harm's way. There really isn't a destination, but staying is ignorant. Survival of the fittest...

they did that already and its practically imposible for them to leave, most of these people are poor or deathly afraid to make any movement for fear of being bombed off the face of the earth. MY husband is from Leb and has many friends and family there who arent tourists....they are only evacuating tourists ....his family is the only family left in their village cuz they cant escape everyone else had citizenship somewhere else and were taken out. This is causing so much chaos, even here in canada within our small lebanese community no one can sleep, eat, anything cuz they are so worried about their family and frieneds.

Northern Lebanon.

And perhaps this mass of refuges will force the Lebanese government to do something about the Hezbollah.

That's right, so apart from telling the people to get out of the way they are telling the Hesbollah that they are coming, to give them a chance to prepare a reception !

They have very little option but move north or into Syria. That would show what support the Lebanese have from Syria or is it only the terrorists have Syria on side?
