gross pay - state income tax - fed income tax - social security - medicare

the federal income tax depends on your income bracket, so you might want to find where you fit in
state income tax = depends on income bracket

social security = 6.2% of FICA (SS+Medicare), and also goes by the name of FICA - OASDI
the 6.2% is only taken out of the first $ 62,700 you make, and the rest is not taxable regarding this tax

medicare = 1.45% of FICA (SS+Medicare), and it taxes all of your income

7.65 % - that is 6.2% social security and 1.45% for medicare....your federal withholding should be at least 10% and i dont know what your state requirements are for state, local and city tax
