depends on the state, but usually its
gross pay - state income tax - fed income tax - social security - medicare
the federal income tax depends on your income bracket, so you might want to find where you fit in
state income tax = depends on income bracket
social security = 6.2% of FICA (SS+Medicare), and also goes by the name of FICA - OASDI
the 6.2% is only taken out of the first $ 62,700 you make, and the rest is not taxable regarding this tax
medicare = 1.45% of FICA (SS+Medicare), and it taxes all of your income

It depends on your filing status (married, single, etc), how many dependants you claim, and what state you live in.
