My son had this done to him in Gym class last year. It is an unsuspected knee to the buttocks (from directly behind), very hard, in an upward motion between the cheeks.
It is very painful, and he ended up punching the kid for it. They both got suspended.
We (my wife, myself, and the principal) had to ask what "cornholed" meant.
The funny name is deceptive, and it COULD be considered a form of sexual assault.

RE:
What is "cornholed"?
My friend said his son complained about being cornholed at school during recess. I didn't know what to tell him so I went to ask my son what it was. I asked what is this cornholed? He just exploded and ran to his sister in the family room and start screaming at her about being a taddle tell...

Cornhole, or Corn Toss, is a game in which players take turns pitching small bags filled with corn (or beans) at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A corn bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a player reaches the score of 21. The platforms measure 4'x2' and are generally made of wood, although plastic can be a suitable replacement. The bags are generally 6x6", made with duck cloth, and filled with dry feed corn.
The game originated Cincinnati, Ohio, [citation needed] and remains most popular there. In recent years the game has spread beyond the confines of the mid-west. It is also growing in popularity among fans of NASCAR stock car racing, [citation needed] particularly those who camp at race sites as well as with college students in the Midwest.

Wow! I don't know how these kids are using it, but I've only heard it used to describe anal sex.
Example: Your going to get cornholed in prison by Bubba.
My son came home one day, and said that the bullies at his school gave some kid a swirly. I asked what it was, and he told me it's when they stick your head in the toilet, and flush.
Anyway, you should have a conversation with your kid, and make sure nothing bad is happening at school.

Said in that way, it means he got screwed, (NOT LITERALLY). Here is an example:
Person 1: This group I'm working with will not do their share of work.
Person 2: You got cornholed
It is the same as saying I got screwed, F***ed, etc.

For you son's sake I hope this is a miscommunication, or a misuse of the word. Cornholed is an older, crude term for anal sex.

Maybe it has developed some new terminology among the younger generation, but I always understood it to be... something that two men do when they love each other very much.
So yeah, they probobly don't really know what it means. You should ask the teacher if he or she has heard about any bullying going on in the class.

I have always known a CORNHOLE to be you butthole. It may mean something different now? Try asking your son again, and explain that you just want to understand the meaning of it.

I don't know if your son used the word in the right context. But, you see, back in the OLD days (can't believe I'm responding to this question), old corn cobs were used instead of Charmin. Get the picture? And I suppose some wipers got overly enthused at that task. This was the nicest way I could explain it.
