Good question. Many Americans like me love our country but do not like a lot of our actions around the world (especially in Iraq).

All the best.

Join the rest of us!! Part of America is the constant dichotomy of living here. We have it all, yet we are very selfish and make selfish foreign policy. We love to live here, yet many times we hate our politicians' choices. Remember Vietnam? The right and ability to protest in large numbers and speak out against our government is one thing we like about living here. It's hard to walk away from the wealth and opportunity we have just because we hate our government. I don't think too many americans have resolved it. I've been American since birth and for 41 years now. I haven't resolved it. I think the only way to live with it is to pretend it doesn't exist and quit thinking about it and watching the news. Or you could get your citizenship and become involved and work with the system to change it. see current governor of California. We have entered an unprecedented time of total lack of involvement and lethargy by the American people. We could use your political activism. Get involved in the next election and volunteer for the candidate you choose! Get involved at the local level and run for office.

well we have any number of policies so...The thing is, unless you really look at history and where all of the players come from and how policy evolves over time, you can't understand it. Many of us here don't understand or like everything we do. Alot of the world and Americans like to bash President Bush, but few realize or care to realize that a great many of the troubles we have now, have been going on for decades.

We are a good country and good people.

Ok John lets start from the beginning shall we?

First of all, where are you John? Are you typing your question from America? If you are the first thing you should do is thank god, Whatever god you believe in. I love these guys who come over here cause they know its the best place in the world, And then start running their mouths about American policies. First of all it would mean much more if you complained from your own country there John, Then maybe we wouldn't think your just the typical foreigner running his mouth. You know full well America is the best period. That's why your here, that's why everyone else wants to be here. Go head keep talking there John, Just do it from outside our boarders thank you.

Please keep in mind that Americans don't make the decisions in America. Unfortunately, we never know what kind of person we're putting into office until they're there, so really we have no control on how stupid or ill fated our country is. And I would say about 40% (at least) of Americans or people who live in the US don't agree with the decisions made for us by the government either.

You CANNOT RESOLVE it.... not possible.. BUT.. keep in mind that policies are made by the Government and its politicians and NOT by the people. This is true in MOST any other country. I personally love the French but do not like the French policies, etc. In the U.S., 99% of policies are made by the not-too-well educated politicians and have nothing to do with the people. In other words.. nearly all the politicians in the U.S. do NOT represent the people but represent themselves and their own peronal GREED

Remember everyone has a right to their opinion. I'm an American and I don't believe in everything this government stands for. So, keep in mind that just because someone is from a certain country they don't necessarily believe and support what the government is doing.

Your friends are not responsible for policies. The American government is responsible for policies. You should not blame your friends for their country of birth/residence. You should judge them on the kind of people they are and what kind of values they have. Do you agree with all the policies of your country?

Simple. Just realize that the citizens are not the government, nor do they make policies, and quite often do not agree with those policies. US citizens are just slaves like everyone else.

Ask your friends. 'cos I'll tell you, there are plenty of us Americans who don't like our policies either.

You know, another answer could be, "Really? We have policies?" since Bush's idea of foreign policy is to swagger around like a drunken cowboy with this "maybe I will, maybe I won't" attitude. And yet, Bush does not consider himself a terrorist.
