Good luck on that one. With the construction on the Dan Ryan, there's not really too good of a time. If you want to start in the AM, I would say leave before 6:00. If in the PM go after 9:30-10:00.

Anywhere from 11 pm to 5:30 am. I went to a play last week and had to drive south on the Ryan and made it through most of the way without running into traffic. Also since you will be taking 65 you might get on the skyway toll road to avoid all of the construction at the 80/94 interchange it's a mess right now.

Its easy to remember when not to be on any Chicago highway. Never drive from 730-9am, or 3-6pm, this is prime time. The Dan Ryan will take a while anyway, but you really need to avoid it at those times.

Try & go around....If at all possible. Otherwise....early in the morning. Like 4am. But, if you really want to avoid it at all cost. Leave super early. Have you seen the web site www.avoidthe danryan.com?? Just went into Chicago a week ago & it was crazy!! Try checking the Illinois Department of Transportation site for new detours, delays. etc. This is what I did & it helped.

What amazes me is nobody said: Take the Skyway.
Take Lakeshore Drive down to 59th, take that over to
the Ryan, get on there, and it's only a few blocks to
the entrance to the Skyway.
