No. I am sometimes happy within myself.

Real happiness comes from being able to realize that being alive - being able to smell the roses and appreciate the beauty around be amused by all forms and textures around us is the greatest gift of all.

I just need my good health and peaceful surrounding to be very happy.

Happiness is an attitude. Abraham Lincoln said "Most people are as happy as they chose to be" I agree. Chose happiness and you can triumph in any situation.

A couple of month agos two of us in my office got the word that our jobs were being eliminated. One left cursing and swearing and never cleaned out her desk. I worked out my notice, took a nice severance package, and have been enjoying some time off at the best time of the year to be unemployed. I don't have a lot of money, and I need to find another job, but I'm finding the experience is what I make it.

You don't have to 'wait' for something good to happen to be happy. You can be happy that you woke up this morning, happy if you're among the fortunate people who are able to work for a living and support themselves! The list goes on and on...I'm happy all of the time simply because I choose to be.

Not really... I'm more the type of person who is happy when something bad hasn't happened... I don't need to wait for something good, the absence of pain and suffering generally makes me quite perky, but I think usually with people, it's when something negative happens it's harder to be sunny.

Everything happens for a reason, and that includes being happy or sad. And yes, I need a reason to be happy. And make it a good one too.

Not at all. Happieness is a state of mind. A reason to be happy makes it that much better, but no reason should be needed.

I think a state of continual happiness or euphoria is unachievable, but I do think we can have a state of contentment for the majority of our lives. It is the actions and events which make us unhappy that have more bearing on our overall state of happiness .
It is therefore my opinion that we do not need for something good to happen before we can be happy but moreover we need for something bad not to happen to stay in our contented sate of mind.

I get happy on life itself. My grandchildren make me happy. The birds and the flowers make me happy. Planting a garden makes me happy. People dont think about the small things in life that could make them happy. Most people thing that money and power can make them happy. They can only bring you more troubles in your life. The world is running to fast for life and people cant catch up to it.If people would be happy about small things instead of everything has to be big this world would be alot better place to live.

I don't need any special reason! To wake up in the morning, have both my dogs come to give me a good morning kiss before showing my partner out off bed so he knows to make me a cup of coffee (While we enjoy our cuddle in bed) as it happens on a daily basis is enough to make feel happy!
