Love 'em all, but gotta go with Depeche Mode for sheer volume and longevity.

They are up there with my all time favorites. Still keep the CD's in my car!

Duran Duran captured more of a pop sound with their records with some catchy hooks and melodies, where as Depeche Mode were more "alternative" for their time, less pop.

Duran Duran. Nick Rhodes is a freaking genius.

Also, some other prog rock bands like Marillion have some good synth as well...but you are hitting on the big ones here.

Hmmm. That's a tough one. They're all good. But If I had to pick one song from all of those bands, it would be "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode. (One of my very favorites!) But it's too hard to pick a band.
