silly question!!! YES because they take to much and it has become double and triple taxed on everything with no deduction for loss. Example: in tax year 2005 my total tax came to 68% of my gross. I had to pay fed, state, city, county, social security, medicare, land tax, property tax, vehicle tax, road tax, valuable tax and get this I had to pay a tax on my dog. And there might of been more tax that i cant remember. But I could not deduct my sons college 18,000 for the year nor the 8000 in med insurance

I grudgingly understand the importance of taxes, and willingly pay them.
My problem is the way tax money is spent by the powers-that-be.
Republican or Democrat, it makes no difference to me: both parties are equally crooked. No one can explain to me how our money is just squandered away for no benefit except to a privileged few.
I want accountability in government at the local, state, and federal level, but seriously, I believe the majority of people would never vote an elected person out of office due to spending impropriety.
BTW-- God bless you on your service to the good 'ol US of A. Be safe!

Tax is being paid by all right thinking people to whichever nation they belong to. Some indignation on the way it is spent by Governements are bound to be there. But still it is one of the best systems. Only lacuna is that the salaried class have a clear income bill whereas many in the services sectors, i.e, Doctors, Advocates, Retailers do not show their income incorrectly and evade tax.

I don't mind paying my taxes, it's paying the taxes of the rich who don't pay taxes because of loop holes, that I mind.
I would definitely give up some benefits for lower taxes. Let's start with the benefit of government grants for studies of things like how many overweight dogs there are in the US.

I don't mind paying the tax. I do mind when I see tax dollars being mismanaged by the government. Such as the billions of dollars of waste in the NASA program.
Then there is the looting of the wellfare system. That disgusts me.

i was always proud to pay taxes and help build a better country.
now we have a gangster president who is stealing our money - giving it to his friends and destroying innocent lives around the world. it truly sickens me now to pay these taxes.
"This growth in government spending has been accompanied by a significant change in the types of programs being funded. Only one-fourth of federal government spending is now used for the more traditional government purchase programs such as defense, transportation, physical resources, commerce, and international affairs. More than 60 percent is now used for transfer payments, including direct payments to individuals, and grants to state and local governments. When the payment of interest on the national debt is added to the amount spent on transfer payments, non-purchase spending equals three-fourths of total federal government spending."

yes I mind. Our government misuses the money. Their answer? RAISE MORE TAXES. And I get no benefit from paying my taxes except the "joy of being an american citizen."

I HATE paying taxes because I know that most of the taxes that I pay (90%) are going to whores who have babies after babies with no husband.. going to illegals who laugh at me for getting my money.. for payments to countries such as Egypt, Bolivia, etc and they have no right to take my money... and of course.. billions going to corrupt city/state/federal officials
