Love and Hate, darkness and light, good and evil, positive and negative. All of these are of course in the eyes of the beholder. There is plenty of everything in this World and you have a choice right this minute what you choose to be your future. If you will begin this moment to only put our positive or good, then you will only get that. You may have some dark seeds that you have planted in the past that might harvest. The only way to deal with that is through God's forgiveness. If you ask God to forgive you by thanking Him for what Jesus did on the cross, your past is forgiven and put into the sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered. It is then still your job to only project good into the World.
You will see the most, (Love or Hate), according to the way you choose to see things. Stay under the umbrella of Faith and your life will be more to the Love side. You may see some darkness but it is not going to affect you if you are not putting any out.

I don't think you can have one without the other. Both are just extremes on the scale of human connection. eg. you would not know what hot was if there wasn't such a thing as cold.
I think that the amount of hatred shown in the media now will create amazing acts of love among communities. Unfortunately, they probably won't get the airtime that the hatred enjoys. Misery sells much better than happiness. That is where the inconsistency lies. It is a human character flaw.

it depends on where you are in the world. For example if you go to Iraq, you will see more hate than love. If you go to say England there might be more love than hate. Some places are more hostile than others. It just depends on where you look

I'd say love and hate balances one another out...The reason it appeared that there's more hate than love is because the media prefer to print negative news.
