Hello.
It is just me again. I am curious to know how many women actually go into labor on their own. I was induced with my first and am curious what kind of chances there are that I may have to be induced again or will go on my own.

I am 2cm dilated and -1 station. This is my second pregnancy. I was induced with my first three days before my due date. I was 2cm dilated for a month before my due date with my first. With this pregnancy I found out Tuesday that I am 2cm dilated. Two weeks before that I was 1 1/2cm dilated. I have my next appointment this coming Tuesday.

My first pregnancy was induced two weeks early due to a rise in my blood pressure.

My second pregnancy I went into labor on my own on my due date.

Second delivery was SO much quicker and easier.

Good luck!!

Inductions happen for a lot of reasons, mostly because the mom and/or baby are in distress. Doctors don't usually induce "just because".

I went into labor on my own, a week late. I labored for 38 hours, pushed for 3 with no epi (it quit working) and ended up with a c section because my son was too big to fit through.

Next one will be a planned c since I obviously can't deliver any other way. But, at least I won't have labored for so long so the recovery should be better.

Your baby will come when it is good and ready.

Good Luck!

First pregnancy I was 2 centimeters dilated for weeks. All of a sudden one day I had some back pain. It wasn't bad but because I was 39 weeks I figured I'd better call the doctors. I got to my doctor's office and was 5 going on 6 centimeters and my contractions were 5 minutes apart. I had a vaginal birth.

My second son was completely different. I was 41 weeks pregnant. I had been having realy strong contractions for weeks but my cervix never changed. I never dilated before I was in labor. When I finally did go into labor at 41 weeks my contractions NEVER got regular. The even tried Pitocin and that didn't even help. My contractions would 3 minutes then 7 minutes; they never got regular. I ended up pushing for 3 HOURS until I told them I was tired and wasn't pushing anymore. I had to get a c-section and turns out my son was facing up and his cord was around his neck.

Completely different scenerios.

Good Luck!!1

I was induced one week early because I was dilated 5 cm when I went to the doctor. I had 4 separate sacks of water and I broke two at home and when I went into labor the third broke on it's own and they broke the one my daughter was in I was in labor for 9 hours and I pushed four times and boom there was my sweet little girl

I have three, and with the first two I went into labor on my own. With #1 I went into labor on my due date, baby was born 2 days later. With #2 I went into labor 10 days over, baby was born 16 hours later. With #3, my water broke and I had no cx's for several hours. Ended up with some complications, and had a c-section 2 hours after showing up at the hospital.

Good luck to you, I know you must be getting excited!

I went into labor on my own, but my water never broke. Since it was my first child I didn't really know if I was in labor or not. By the time I decided to call and go see my doctor, I was 9 cm. I went to the hospital, got an epidural, and about 5 hours later the nurse came in and broke my water because I was feeling "pressure". My daughter was born 21 minutes after that.

I went into labor on my own with my first. I dilated so fast I barely made it to the hospital in time. With my second I was induced and was in labor for about 18 hours.

I went into natural labour three days early. I tried to blame my b/f's cooking for the discomfort I was having ! lol
At 2am I was feeling the pains and then I stayed steady at 2cm untill 7 am when I went from 2-8 cm in a matter of minutes. 6 long hours later I gave birth with no drugs ( I wanted them.. they were unavailable.. liars I swear!! lol) my little girl was 9lbs 3 oz.
When your baby is ready it will come... If you want to try and go into labour naturally talk to your doctor about it and see what s/he suggests. There was a woman that I know .. she had her first by c-section.. she wanted to expierience birth etc..etc.. so with her second she tried naturally...her doc said that she could try but if things got scary he would order a C-section done. It was very hard for her but she managed :)

I was induced with both of mine. The reason i was induced was because of blood pressure. For some reason my blood pressure always goes up to about 150/95 during my last month. My last pregnancy my daughters heart rate started dropping dramatically during labor. They had to dilate me so she could hurry up and come out.
