Well, I'd have to vote the computer.

However, you have to acknowledge all the inventions leading up to it. Do you think the computer would be all it is today (or even exist) with the inventions that led up to it? Like the telephone (internet)? The television (comptuer monitor)? The transistor (data storage and manipulation)? Mathematics? The discovery of electricity? This is all important, and the list is nearly endless. When I say the 'best' invention of all time is the computer, I have to give credit to everything that led up to it.

Here's why I like it:
The computer is my life, basically. It helps me out in almost every aspect of life. It has become my field of study, and will be my career. All my jobs have involved a computer. I have a job as a programmer (which requires a computer ALL the time), and a job as a web developer (which ALSO requires a computer ALL the time). I could live without one easier than most people I know. I use them for work and homework mostly, and I have several 'analog' hobbies outside programming and media, and yahoo answers. It's definitely a life-changing thing for us all. Can't wait to see what the future holds.
