My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past month...I don't want to get my hopes up...but I was supposed to start my period this week and still haven't. I'm not sure if it's because my body is just getting used to not taking the birth control....or if I'm possibly pregnant...what do you think?

go ahead and take the test if your period is already late... but if it comes up negative and still no period try another test in 3-4 days

I would wait at least couple more weeks, if no signs of a period, then I would take a pregnancy test. As you stated, your body has to make a lot of adjustments from being on a scheduled cycle. Your body, as well as, several other factors including how long you have been on the pill, your ovulation, etc, must all be taken into consideration. Having been on the birth control pill, however, you should be able to calculate when is the best time to conceive, according to when you ovulate. Also, discussing family planning with your physician would be a good idea, as they would be able to give you additional tips on when is the best time to conceive. Good luck to you and your husband.

Sometimes people who just stop taking birth control their period changes. I would suggest waiting until the end on the month and then taking a test. But don't get upset sometimes it take 6 months to a year after someone stops birth control to get pregnant.

I am not on birth control and my hubby and I have been trying for baby number three for 3 months now. I won't know unitl next week.

But also you can go to the doctor and have a blood test done if you can't wait that long. I would also suggest for you if you are not pregnant to still go a speak with a doctor. He/she will start you on prenatal pills and my help you better. Good Luck

When I got off the pill it took me 6 weeks to gt my first period, I thought I was pregnant too but I wasn't, so one day 6 weeks after the last day I took the last pill I could have sworn I was pregnant, my nipples tingled, I had nausea and I was sooooo excited so I took a pregnancy test and Boomer! it was negative! I was like, how is it negative if I have all the symptoms? and right as I said that my period came. I was sooooo frustrated!! but happy at the same time to see my period, anyway I was done with my period and I did the ovulation saliva test, it did tell me when I was ovulating and got pregnant that month. I got a positive test 16 days after ovulation. I would say give it time, it is really frustrating to get a negative test when you think it might be positive. I would wait 2 more weeks and see if you get any symptoms, and then test.

Take it now!! with the early response tests, you can test up to 3 days before you miss your period.

As early as 2 or 3 days before your period is due. Good luck!

Wait about two weeks and then try but if that fails, you can always go to your doctor and have them do the most accurate one, which would be a blood test to test the level of your hormones.
