I mostly don't complain about politics because I try to remain as ignorant as possible on the subject. I find it detestable and I'm powerless to change anything anyway, so why engage it?

I love this question! I wrote a question a few weeks ago titled, "Why do people complain about their government?" Most of the answers were very leftist advocacy and some were quite intelligent stating that the," Constitution gives us the right to complain."

I don't refute the right to complain nor the fact that the Constitution indeed allows for free speech. My concern, as I see reflected in your question, is that the people elect the officials of public service. I must agree that it seems more people have come to hate the current administration and also voice their opposition to it however, I have to ask the question, the people who vioce their opposition, did you vote, do you write to your state legislature, do take part in changing the lives of people in your community for the better, if you dislike the type of government did you join an advocacy group to reflect your anger and casue?

I believe that we should not be complaining about politics, it doesn't do the people in power any good to complain either. We should be complaining about the people who VOTE for the politicians. The people have this entitilment issue whereby they feel that it is their civic duty to vote no matter if they like the politicains of not. I'm not an anarchist by any means, but consider this: if no one votes, it would bring the government to it's knees, it would stop the complaining, at least for the interem, and the people can decide what is the best direction to move the country in.

You could look at it as complaining or as talking about a problem. If African Americans (or everyone) ignored the fact that republicans kept postponing and cancelling meetings to extend the equal voting rights thing, all of a sudden they wouldn't be able to vote. We have to speak up if there is a problem. So many people have the 'I can't change anything anyways' attitude that we are just going to turn into farm animals while the pigs have total control of our lives.

Complaining never solved anything and I believe most politician TRY to do right but 98% put their interest above their constituants. I don't understand how riled up some people can get but they do nothing to solve problems, just criticize those who are working to make life safer and better for their citizens.

There is basically nothing wrong with politics but it is the people who claim to be politicians and misuse their power for selfish gains who should be complained about and blamed for all political evils!
