They were in a very tough group with Italy and Ghana in it. I would have thought they would have been on their way to the second round for sure after their performance against the USA. However I believe they had a injury plagued month and this contributed to their loss against Ghana. After the loss to Ghana their morale was down and Italy comfortably beat them by a score line of 2-0. So I believe the reason was because of their injuries and their loss to Ghana really got their morale down.

Czech has always has a good showing in the world cup so far. They players are generally strong. However, they basically retain the same players since the last world cup or since Euro2004. There's hardly any new and fresh talents in the 2006 squad, the current players though talented and come with great records fail to shine. Everyone expected more from them but the sparks didn't seems to fly in the early stages of the world cup. I'm really surprise that they couldn't get into the last 16. I do hope to see a better and refresh Czech team in Euro 2008.

I was sad to see them go i thought they had great potential (plus i had them in a WC sweep =D) They looked on great form against USA, but injuries got the better of them. They have amazing players like Nedved and Rosicky but without the other great players like Koller and Baros on form they didn't do as well as they possibly could have. Maybe next time, but shame I doubt Nedved will be taking part. He was a fantastic player who always tried to remain ahead of the ball = )

Maybe Euro 2008 lads = )

Greece gained the Euro2004, so who knows? The Czechs have an fantastically good crew, yet equivalent to in case of britain, Mexico or the U. S. I don’t see some thing unique of their crew. they prefer a genius, like Ronaldinho or Zidane.

sure they looked great on paper but the game is not played on paper its on the field and at the WC anything can happened. look at teams like Argentina they were to young, Brazil didn't play as a team, Spain played in 13 WC finals and never finished higher then 4th place and Spain is a team stacked with great players but when it comes to the WC they fall apart. look at England they also fall apart but they are also highly overrated. so things just happened and they just didn't play that great.

I think they didn't play good enough, they needed more dedication and hey had had to be centralized in the game and not thinking other stuffs.. =)
