The nearest galaxy to our own is a small satellite galaxy called Canis Major A. It is only 40,000 light years from the Milky Way.

The nearest major galaxy is Andromeda which is 2 million light years away - in other words it would take light 2 million years to get there.
2 million light years is about 12 million million million miles. In your car at a generous 100mph for 24 hours a day that would take you about 13 million million years... or 1000 times the age of the universe!
The crew of Apollo 10 travelled at 25,000 mph, and at that speed it would still take 55 billion years... either way, you should definately take a packed lunch!

It takes two million years (for light) from M31 to reach us. M31, also known as the Andromeda galaxy, is the galaxy nearest to us (us being the Milky Way). It's a beautiful spiral galaxy, that probably closely resembles the milky way in terms of general appearance.
