Not a bad idea...
Israel receives more than one-fourth of the U.S. foreign aid budget, but with its high level of militarization, it must sell weapons to survive, note the authors.

Hows this for an answer. No one asks yanks to stick there noses into anyones business, the good old U.S.of A just seems to think it must help out every one cause if you dont have freedom America style, then Uncle Sam will ram it down your neck and force U.S.A freedom on every one. Cause if it aint white and middle class its obviously not free. America may be the most powerful country in the world but due to its arrogance and need to prove this America has also became one of the most hated counties in the world. Oh and George W. is a moron.

It is the duty and responsibility of larger, richer and more powerful countries to provide both support and aid to weaker nations but not at the expense of dictating policies or dominating the people. The people of Indonesia were both suspicious and wary about US aid during the Tsunami crisis in 2004 and insisted that all of the US aid people leave within six months. Unfortunately it seems that once we set foot in a country, we want to hang around to insure that we capitalize on our 'noble' efforts. After the French-Vietnamese war ended, the US agreed to abide by the covenants of the the Geneva Accords and tongue in cheek we promised no US military would enter the country but we already had about 600 military/agents/operatives of the CIA in place. With this example and many others, fewer countries request our physical help but do ask for financial resources to improve their lot.The only ones that ask for a military presence are those petty dictators that we supported to begin with, and fear for their loss of control. Now, if we would focus our attention on the US, what should be done first....hand out money...improve education...relocate people to locations where they could possible earn a living (if they are employable!!!), offer job training, stop drug trafficking, improved highways, install anti-pollution devices, finance research for new drugs, pay off the blacks and the Native Americans that have been ill-used, provide food kitchens for the homeless, spend money on studies to improve America, improve internal security, revise the social security system and welfare, take care of veterans that have suffered both emotional and psychological injuries during the various wars. The list is long but if America wants to maintain any authority abd respect in the world, we can't exclude other countries in our responsibility. World peace can only come about with equality of all nations....so you are saying that some are more equal than others. I disagree, some are more disadvantaged than others.

this might pass down in historic past as a results of fact the ideal Ponzi Scheme ever. The Liberal editors on the (Cleveland) elementary broker are working a collection of sob memories on the front pages this week & as politics is going in this united states of america, a great bailout will ensue....it fairly is a presidential election 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. yet jointly as i will empathize on one point, maximum individuals have been given in as a results of fact it regarded like they have been getting something for just about not something and - in some years - sell at an amazing income. It grew to become into greed in line with stupidity and - on the top of the day - i don't choose to advantages the two.

Anyone who helps someone else out of the goodness of their heart has my admiration. And they are a lot more likely to get help when they need it themselves...the US has more and more enemies, and their army is spreading itself thin....they could do with some friends. You need to *be* a friend to have some. In some cases America has helped countries because it was in its own interest (Kuwait for starters), but I think it's great that they also give a hand to people having suffered natural disasters.

Don't know why we have to spread ourselves so thin. I think our current President has gotten us into a real bind. Sooner or later our luck is going to run out and we are going to start seeing things right here at home much worse than 9/11. This world is on the edge of Global war and we may not win this time. By the way, I didn't vote for him either time, but who knows if he got my vote.

Everyone needs friends or as in americas case or any other countries, ALLIES. As america has many enemies by now, they need as much allies as possible and to do so, they need to help countries that will in then end should a problem arise help america back.
How can you say america doesnt help itself out, of couse it does. It doesnt just help others out. It budgets things out so that it has enough to help others and itself. It called balance.

Because the current administration don't want to help YOU, they want to help THEMSELVES! And they're not bailing out anyone. They'll eventually come to Israel's aid but that's only because they put them there in the first place. And they help at times of crisis if and when it suits them.
America never get involved in world affairs unless it has something to gain! It'd be foolish to believe otherwise.

I agree with you. We need to take care of America first. Sure the people in other countries appreciate our help but what do they do for us? Nothing. We should take care of Americans!

That has been my point for years now. People look at us for leadership, and we have so many problems right here at home. Then cases like Iraq, we spend $100 billion tearing down and rebuilding when half of that could have fixed many problems here at home.
