Well, there could be a zillion explanations! I'll give you three of my personal reasons:

1) Movies are an escape from the everyday. If you're stressed out, it's nice to sit down and watch other people's problems and whatnot and not worry about your own.

2) Movies mostly aren't real; they're fiction. It's kinda fun to imagine, y'know, "What if this was real?"

3) Movies make books that you loved live-action and right before your eyes. 'Nuff said.

Because movies are a break from the real world of war, crime, stress and worry. Movies are an escape where everything works out in the end and you don't have to think about your own problems for a couple of hours.

I think it's because some of the things that happen in movies dont really happen in real life and just to see those things either makes you happy, sad, or scared....or it could be just the opposite some movies may relate to some people like that it's happened in their lives or it's about to happen it just matters on what kind of movie it is and who the person is:)

Due to the turmoil and stresses of the world today, I think movies are a great way to escape from reality for 2 hours or so.

Same reason people like fiction books. It's entertaining. It's nice to not have to worry about real life once in awhile.

The reason I love movies is because it isn't real life... its a great escape with no consequences!!!!!!!!!!!

because they r similar to real life stories and therefore they can relate to them somehow. and aso ppl liked to be entertained! bak in the older days it was with theatre, and well it still is, but now movies r watched more.

For a break in reality. Every day life sucks backsides. We rent, buy and spend tons of money on movies for this break.
