Maybe they want you to actually WORK, they are not paying you to waste their time on my space.

Not after the 10 points, but I also have Myspace blocked on my own personal computer. Every time my daughter gets on it,it screws my PC up. I don't know what it is about that site, it just sends my computer into self restart crap again. I spent too many hours trying to keep this thing running the way I want it to let my daughter spend ten minutes on myspace to F%^$ it up.
Maybe they are having similar issues, and that's why they blocked it. I hope you wouldn't be visiting that site while you're supposed to be working.

Usually when they do that there are other things going on:

1. Security issues
2. When blocked its from a server directly
3. They take out the tools to do this from the comp, do from internet (webcralwer)
4. They are monitoring the computers too

So, if you do get on the site it shows up at the admins computer as a red flag. They can see USER X has logged onto a forbidden site then see how you logged on. It's like spyware for the company.

Don't do it, unless your willing to lose your job. Wait until you get home.

The only way to unblock it is to talk to the systems administrator. They are very unlikely to do this for you since it would be hard to justify why you need to be looking at MySpace while at work. That's why employers do this - to keep workers from wasting company time on the internet. Now - get busy!

Sorry....but if they have good security settings and properly used firewalls to block that site, you wont be able to do anything about it.
It's an effort to keep personal computer use at work to a minimum, a lot of companies have blocked myspace since there's no legitimate reason someone would use it for work!

u cant unblock it. the company is on a network. This specific network has websites that r prohibited throughout the entire nation. The only way 2 reprogram this is to:

1) hack into the server, which probably has a security encoding of upwards of 1,000,000 digits

or

2) kill the webmaster 4 ur company and take his/her job.

you can't unblock unless you have administrative privileges. they have place myspace on a block list and no one at the firm would be able to get in. my job is the same way. they block certain key words. being that i am puerto rican and i know spanish i type the words in spanish and that sometimes gets me through because they tend to block english words. try to google it in spanish it works here. mi espacio. good luck

I'm not sure that you can unblock it. Sounds like it is something that is done through the server.

Are you trying to lose your job? You don't surf the internet while at work. They can find out which monitor is doing what on the internet.
