It's a fundamental part of the English Language that you can spell correctly. What sort of example are you setting other people? Just being slack and slovenly.
It doesn't take long to write a word correctly. I HATE it when people use text speak to write with or just don't bother using spell check when the people at Answers have been kind enough to install the feature!. I put it to everyone that they make a concerted effort to use spelling and grammar correctly so the future generation are not complete ignorant bastards like you and most of the lazy buggers on here obviously are.
There.......I'm much calmer now

Not being able to spell correctly is a serious problem once you grow up and are in the real or business world. It is frowned upon greatly. There is no reason why most people cannot spell correctly, especially on Yahoo! Answers where a spell check is provided for you. This definitely makes one look like an "idiot". 'Txt' messaging on your cell phones or emails between your friends and casual acquaintances is just fine and your business. (I have used short forms for my own purposes for years.) However, for every other communication, improper spelling, grammar and punctuation is not acceptable; it is essential for success in the business world. Example: There is nothing more sad, funny, embarrassing and just plain baffling how a 40-year old executive with an MBA (Masters Business Administration) sends a self-typed letter to his colleagues with spelling errors in it. Almost every recipient noticed it....

I'm a uni student and I see some disgraceful primary school spelling from people at uni which I think's a shame on them lol. I spell correctly, of course, but I also use text language for short-hand and to save time (lol = laugh out loud).

But genuine spelling mistakes by uni students is unacceptable, as well as poor grammar which I commonly see (most common is your instead of you're). Sorry for my moan.

I missed something and just caught up!
I do understand what you are saying yet I am so annoyed by those people who cannot spell and so do not know the differences in counselor and councilor. It's not important whether there are 2 lls or not but they are very different jobs. There are many words pronunced the same but the spelling quite different.

it really does matter if you can't spell, not everyone uses Txt language - most kids now are so used to using "spell check" on their computers that it makes it difficult for them when they actually have write something out in long hand - I am not saying that people on this site should keep pulling people up on it, but just for your own benefit, it is good to know how to spell - believe me

I agree. People shouldn't mock mispellings. However, I have to say that txt writing does my head in, I never really understand it.

It makes you look IGNORANT AND LAZY if you don't care enough to correct your spelling/grammar!!!

If you want people on here to take you and your question seriously, then take the time to correct your spelling!!!
