how the income from trading in F & O market treated whether capital gain or business?

is derivative contract are considered as securities when traded on recognised stock exchange & STT charged.? if no why

My auditor told me last month that it will be treated as short capital gain.Further it will decided only by the assessing officer whether it is a capital gain or business but in the normal course it is only capital gain.I think you are clear now and do confirm it with your auditor
