It's a way to pass time, like when you have 20 minutes on a bus or train and you wouldn't be doing anything except be bored.
Plus, since it is a logic puzzle it's good excercise for your brain.

Actually, I'm surprised by all the people who find solving Sudoku puzzles a fun challenge. I just can't form that kind of relationship with numbers, hard as I try. People, words and info do it for me. Different strokes, I guess.

I find I occasionally like the challenge that this game offers. My husband and I sometimes work on the same puzzle or race just for fun. Certainly, if you get addicted to it and just do puzzle after puzzle, it would be easy to waste a lot of time that could be better spent on Answers, right?

There is no such thing as "a waste of time".
We each are allotted 24 hours a day to do with as we please.
All uses are valid. Some may be illegal, but that's a different question.

I completely agree. Total waste of time. It's like one of those dumb math puzzles in school. I'd much rather use my time to read a good novel.
If I'm so desperate to do a math puzzle, I could try balancing my checkbook! :-)

it can be a time waste if it becomes a habit
not if u r doing it for passing free time
plus it is a gud exercise 4 th brain

Japanese people are CRAZYYY.
...in a good, frightening way of course.
Yes, Soduku is too logical for my mind to follow though. I usually stop at the third line.
