If you've ever taught, you know what I mean. There's always one name that you spend all year saying over and over for whatever reason that when you have a kid of your own you vow NEVER to use because that name reminds you of you know who!! What's your name?? If you feel up to sharing why you don't like that name, feel free. Or you can stay annoyomous.

The names I can't ever use with my kids (when I have them) are:
Edward
Kyle
Brittany
Brandon

Sorry for those of you with these names - but here goes.
Several of my teacher friends and I have discussed these names and we all agree:
Cody ( #1)
Brittany
Cheyenne
Rocket ( he lived up to his name - and no, it wasn't a nickname!)

In my short time in the classroom as an early childhood teacher, there are a few names that come to mind. Even as a student myself, I recall hearing many of these names over and over and over again!

Justin
Jennifer
Ryan
Brian
Laura
Jenna
Jessica
Brittany

It is not that these are horrible names. It is just unfortunate that there are probably millions of children and adults out there named one of these names. There is no thought given or uniqueness behind any of these names. Please realize that I am not bashing anyones name.

Brandon. That kid's name will be forever tattooed on my brain. There are other names as well. However, the children were so horrible I've somehow managed to block their names from memory!

Ooh, I know what you mean! The haunted names for me are Jackson, Lucas, and Matt. Luckily, my kids are all girls, and they're now adults. Now all I have to worry about is their naming my grandchildren these forbidden names!

My friend's mom was a teacher, but she had her kids before she began teaching!! She would probably never name her kid Evan or Tom, however.
