The Israelis are no more different than any people in the Middle-East. Americans should start learning about them up close, instead of just swallowing the images propagated here by the mainstream media, making Israelis all look like victims for one, and like Westerners for another. When your government is steadfastly supporting them and your taxes are bankrolling them, you should educate yourself better. For the most part, they are religious not secular as the Western world is. And most of them, like Hezbollah, base their claims on religion, using Biblical terms constantly, as in "Judea and Samaria."
God does not favor any people.
Tsahal is not a dignified Army. I was in Lebanon during the Israeli invasion. To our disbelief, as most of us Christians had assumed that the Israelis would be more "civilized," they behaved in the most vile ways, desecrating churches and mosques, raping women, and actually sh*tting on the floors of people's apartments that they went through, even where there were functional bathrooms.
And let's all remember, or look up if you must, the massacres that they encouraged and shielded for days then protected the perpetrators of, in Sabra and Chatila.
The Israelis are hateful. And I'll take the wind out of whomever wants to respond. Yes, so is Nasrallah, the head of Hizbullah. And he has hijacked Lebanon, the reckless brutal fool. But the
israelis were there before him and always acted brutally, bulldozing in response to rocks thrown at them.
I love how people keep saying that Israel is very careful in its bombardment and accurately pinpoints its bombing avoiding civilans, while Hezbullah throws rockets arbitrarily. Do you know that the Geneva Convention says "if in doubt whether it is civilian or miliitary, you don't shoot?" So, which is it? Accurate deliberate bombarding of cars transporting families, of residential neighborhoods, of grocery stores, or necessary collateral damage, because they're not that accurate?
Oh, and how kind they are and sensitive throwing those leaflets, warning people in the South to leave. The media here in the US is constantly reminding us of that courtesy in war, in fact, nothing but hypocracy. Just how will those people leave, when every road has been bombed to oblivion from day one? Let me tell you something now, for those of you who will go read other sources, not necessarily anti-American, but something like the BBC. You will find out when the Israelis do go into South Lebanon, that they will go into basement shelters, and blindly, or worse, deliberately, shoot at all people in there, including babies and toddlers. Those people there are doomed now, if you don't speak out for a cease-fire now. Yes, their women are all covered in black, but their lives are equal in God's eyes as any Israeli life.
In the earlier invasion of Lebanon, Israel had bombed a UN post where civilians had taken refuge, in the village of Qana. One hundred civilians had died. Which will it be, Iask again: acurate bombardment of a UN Post shielding civilians or is the Israeli Army as "dumb" and arbitrary as Hezbollah?
No, Lebanon has not brought this upon itself. No, I am sorry, you can't say that you are sick of getting Katyusha rockets despite the fact that you withdrew as requested by Lebanon and the UN. NOTHING justifies this.
Please note that I have not said Jew once, before some idiot calls me anti-semitic. There are, I am happy to say, many normal (not self-hating) Jews who agree with me.
And I know someone might report me. OooH, what a price to pay for trying to save lives and shed light on an inhumane situation.
