I've heard "tee-uh-wanna" mostly, "tee-wanna" occasionally. If the former, why isn't it written "Tiajuana" ... or is it? Regardless, don't you just love "Tijuana Brass"? ... or is it "Tiajuana Brass"?

If you were speaking Spanish, you would pronounce it "Tee-wanna" with the emphasis on the first syllable. When you refer to the Tijuana Brass, it is an American band and would be more proper to use the Spanglish pronunciation of "Tee-a-wanna" as in "Herb Alpert and the tee-a-wanna brass".

I have always heard native Mexicans pronounce it "tee-wanna".
As an American, I tend to pronounce it the wrong way "tee-a-wan-uh", partly, because it's awkward to speak an entire sentence in English and then just whip out a Spanish word with a perfect Spanish accent. It's not that it's hard to do, it just makes the speaker sound like a know-it-all jerk (in my humble opinion). ; )

The Spanish pronounciation (since it is a Spanish word) is: tee-who-anna. It's never Tiajuana. That would mean Aunt Jane ;-)
