My bala sharks did well, tiger barbs are good (when you get them small their even better and get more than one) Angel fish, our beta did great so long as it was the prettiest fish in the tank. We also had a 'Royal' Pleco (the bottom feeders) he was a 30 dollar fish, but well worth it. So it depends on the fish you have and their size. Good hunting...uh..fishing?

you did good for picking tetras. they're a community fish, so they can live with pretty much any other community fish. mollies and platys come in different colors and they're a neat addition to the tank. neon fish are also tetras and can be kept a long time if you get them in multiples. just remember to have 1gal. for every 1in. of fish. any more and you'll overcrowd the tank, which is a bigger deal than it seems.

Any small non-aggressive fish -- ask your salesperson at the pet store. Swordtails, molleys, gulpys, cories (I have all of these in my tank with my Neon Tetras).

Don't put African Cichlids in with anything! Their body chemistry is incompatible with most tropical fish (which are from the Amazon River Basin). Cichlids will poison your other fish (but they are pretty!)!

If you live near a PetSmart, go in there. they have their tanks all arranged in sections. They are easily labeled with what will go together, with the majority of them being community fish. There are so many different types and each of them being more beautiful than the next. There are sooo many types!

Fish compatibility
Tetras can share their aquarium with other community danios, rasboras, catfish and less aggressive barbs and gouramis.
I got this information from the following PetsSmart link
