Absolutely not. The information age is a double edged sword. On one hand we have an unprecedented access to all manner of information previously unavailable to us. On the other hand, the same lack of censorship which allows this to occur has led to the spread of untruths, lies and prejudice. More extreme views are seing the light of day, and as much as I would like to think sharing information has brought everyone closer together, I think that for those who are not tolerant enough to accept things that they don't agree with, xenophobia, isolationism and the tendancy to stick together in a kind of web-nationalism is/are alive and well. I hope that term is not copyrighted by the way. If not it should be.

My opinion for what it is worth (not much).

I find people to be very distrustful and xenophobic on account of the information age giving us a greater awareness of the crimes that are committed.

There are still people willing to take chances, but most of them also take precautions too.
