Logically I say of course, but inpractice I have to ask if I could actually pull the trigger (or whatever). I don't think anybody truly knows 'til the gun is in hand the person in front of you.

It all depends on a lot of things eg.

Do I know any of the people?

Why are they going to die?

If the single person dies is there a 100% surety that the other 2 will survive?

What types of weapons are involved in the situation?

the time frame?

For me personally if I didn't know the people I wouldn't put myself inthe position where I had to make that sort of decission, but if I knew the people and there was not a good reason for what was happening then I would do something including trying to get around having to kill the single person to save the others.

it would depend on who i'd have to kill and who i'd have to save

suppose if i had to kill someone whom i loved to save 2 people who treat me like trash: "HELL NO"

BUT
if it was 2 kill some i hate 2 save 2 innocent ppl, yeah y not ?

but if i don't know any of them then i'd back away

yes, because no one actually is completely innocent and you have to remember that youre killing ONE to save TWO. =D

I guess that would depend on who those people were. If they were complete strangers, I suppose you would let nature take its course and leave your conscience clean without any bloodshed on your hands. However if at least one of those 2 people were, say, the love of your life, absolfreakinglutely...

No but I would kill all three of them if it were to save my life. It is called do not interfere with fates of others but work to survive your own.

That is a hard question. I don't think I could kill anyone. But if my children were involved I don't know what I would do...it's weird but when your children are threaten, a parent reacts differetly, I know I do.

No, because if I did (and if I was justified to do so - etc), it would deny all three people free will.

(And I'd except being one of the three people - life must be free.)

Early definition of justice in Plato's Republic: "Do no harm." So, if one chooses this as a foundation for their decision making, they would not.
