The chicken. It came from the egg of another creature but it was genetically and physically mutated. It layed it's own egg, passed on it's mutated genes to the baby and therefore started a new species:) Either that or it was a cross breed between two different creatures so it was also somewhat mutated when it hatched, therefore creating the Chicken. When it bred with a member of it's parents' species, it's genes and mutations were passed on to the next generation, and their genes passed on until they could breed with eachother. Then there were perfect chickens:P The same thing is happening with humans, though not successfuly. There was a chimpanzee a while back who was born missing one chromasome, he was only one chromasome shy of a human and also a chimp so he was like a hybrid, that was a mutation. He didnt breed I dont think, but apparently, even if he did the gene wasn't dominant.

The chicken of course! (See following explanation)
A chicken and an egg are lying in bed. The chicken is leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette with a satisfied smile on its face. The egg, looking a bit ticked off, grabs the sheet, rolls over and says ... Well, I guess we finally answered "THAT question!"

Probably the chicken, who came from the egg of something else, and then laid it's own egg later.
