Go to the nearest lawyer, they were born inot manipulating these type of cases to benefit you... of course it always depends how much money you are willing to pay for it.

As you were only married for a short time and the marriage was violent and he walked out on you, you might be able to have the marriage annulled rather than a divorce. I would discuss this with a solicitor ASAP. There will be differences in the law depending on whether you married in Northern Ireland (British law) or the Republic of Ireland (Irish law). However an annulment usually prevents your ex from claiming any of your assets and will recognise that no legitimate marriage ever took place.

See a lawyer. You should be able to get legal aid if money is a problem.

You should be able to request a copy of the marriage certificate from the place where the ceremony happened.

Also, you should be able to divorce on the grounds of cruelty and also having been separated for a while.

Don't worry!

It should be no problem - but you may have a bit of a wait before you can actually marry again as you'll need to wait until the decree absolute comes through!

Good luck

You should be able to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate if you contact the registrars office where it would be registered, i.e. the town in which you were married. You would need to provide the full details of date, full names etc, and there will be a small charge. If you contact Citizens Advice near to you, they will be able to put you in contact with solicitors who offer a free 30 minute consultation to find out what you do next. It could be a simple case of obtaining the divorce papers from the court and completing them yourself, however if you have no forwarding address for your husband, there are ways and means of still getting a divorce, desertion being the main point here! It is possible to do the divorce yourself, its not too difficult and is far cheaper, this is only really possible if there are no children involved, I divorced my last husband, best £180 I spent! Good luck

You can get a divorce anywhere but you have to have a copy of the license. Be a residence of that country or state at least 6 month and is best to go through an attorney but not necessary they have the perfect attorney software to guide you through the process if money is a problem. Also your soon to be ex's address. It's that easy. But each state/country have their own rules so you have to know their requirements. Good Luck

Find 36 four leaf clovers......add them to 1 pint of cooling boiled water........sprinkle a little on your front door stop at the same time saying: I divorce thee, I divorce thee, I divorce thee...... upon uttering the 3rd I divorce thee....36 Little People will kidnap him and spirit away all records of your marriage......he will never be heard of again so please make sure that this is what you want.
