I think he just had an insider at ACME in the R&D department that would let him test out their new stuff for free

He just wants revenge on that Roadrunner for making his health insurance rates go up. I mean, he falls off a cliff every single day. Now he's getting unemployment checks from the government, his wife left him in shame, and the coyote mafia is after him (after he didn't pay his gambling debts). He's on the run, and you can see it in his eyes that he's desperate. And it was his luck that helped him find an abandoned Acme warehouse full of tools. I think it's a matter of honor rather than gastronomic satisfaction. We might see the final confrontation when the movie comes out.

Poor coyote was given coupons which were good only for Acme stuff, not convertible to cash or for purchasing food. He didn't have a good agent at the start and was given the short end of the stick by Warner Bros.

Maybe he got the items from ACME for free in return of advertisement! Every time it was shown, another point for ACME!

why do people fish instead of going to a store and buying it?? why do people hunt deer instead of buying it from a farm??? the trill of the chase!!! what fun would that have been, if wile had done that??????? would watching him go into a reseraunt and by dinner really make anyone laugh???? i don't think so. he chased the road runner, because that's what the designers of the show thought would be funny.
besides, do you know of any resteraunts that serve
road runner????

He had an uncontrollable urge for a roadrunner dinner. Since none of the surrounding restaurants served it he had to catch his own.

He didn't want just any dinner, he wanted the one thing he couldn't have (just like every other guy) You want the one thing you can never have. Most of WB ideas came from psyshological mischief. That's what makes it so funny.

If so, then there won't be a reason to its existence, and the existence of the entire production crew. And, the existence of its nemesis - The Roadrunner.
