bach or brahms, both are very soothing to mom and baby, even before birth!

Some things I listened to.....
Carnival of the Animals
Carmina Burana (sp?)
Gershwin...Rhapsody in Blue

I also listened to Sting in all three labors. During my last birth, I was listening to "We'll be together tonight" while I was pushing and I alternated between laughing and joyful crying because it was so cool that this song was on!

I love Bach. I would find a composer that YOU like, the Baby Einsteins are great, but for BABIES, not grownups as much, they are very simple and childlike versions. I also would suggest a piano CD, you can find anywhere with those CD booths in target/pier one. Something that relaxes you.

If you are looking for more soothing and relaxing music, try Vivaldi, Bach, and Mozart. Anything from the Baroque or early Classical period should be fine.
