I suppose there must be as I read about a headless rider so obviously his horse must have been a ghost too. What about other things that might be ghosts such as trains, etc - it is so weird. Any thoughts out there?

Makes you wonder. Traditional religion says that only humans have souls, but if there are animal ghosts, then animals must have souls, too. Hmmm. Any other glaring inconsistencies with traditional religion?

There are many kinds of ghosts, and animals can leave ghosts as well as humans. Two kinds of ghosts are the traditioinal earthbound soul, and the case of a psychometric recording. Animals, in my experience, are capable of leaving both.

Anything that has emotions can leave residual energy after experiencing strong ones. This is called psychometric residue. This is not a lost spirit, but rather a sort of astral recording of an event. Even the living can haunt a place in this way. If you've ever been overjoyed, or fiercely terrified, you may be haunting a place even now. The energy you sent out at that time is still there, lingering in objects. Animals clearly have emotions, and also they have energy, so they can leave this kind of ghost easily enough. I don't know what to say to people who doubt animals feel, and think there's probably little hope for them.

As for the ghosts that are the left behind soul of a being, I have seen these, as well. Many of them were animals. Every pet I have had has come back to say goodbye at least once. A beagle I had as a child was quite persistent about it. She didn't leave until much time had passed, to the bewilderment of my parents who couldn't see her. My mom didn't believe me until I saw the ghost of a dog who had been put to sleep, although I had been told she had been sold. Granted that this is anecdotal evidence, but it has convinced me. Christians often try to persuade me that animals don't have souls so this is impossible, but it doesn't actually say anywhere in the Bibble that they don't, and Ecclesiastes actually ponders the possibility that they do.

Indeed there are such things as animal ghosts, I know as I have seen them but things like trains aren't really ghosts. They are strong imprints in time. They may contain spirit beings or ghosts if they died due to a disaster like a crash for instance. Things like the headless horse man are very common in folklore in many countries around the world. I'd stick looking for the nice ghostly dogs and cats though if I were you.

Okay, check this out.......my friend and I where walking down the st and out of no where this big German Shep appears never did we see this dog here before, but what was so strange about it was the fact that it laid right in the middle of the st, with traffic on it. And the whole time just starring at us, us only never took his eyes off of us. Then this man out of no where appears, running toward us, never have we saw this man before in our lives, he almost runs right into us, next thing we know both the man and the dog are gone, vanished, disappeared, in thin air, and I am not bull-sh-t-in. Well to make a long story short. One year later my friends mother was hit by a car and killed, and it was exactly on the spot that dog laid down on.

I believe yes they can remain here spiritualy, at least the more domesticated ones, ones who are around humans because they have been taught things and see more like we do. I also believe that things such as trains like you said that people refer to as ghost trains, ships, etc are more like imprints left on earth, occasionally reappearing just as they did when they left.

Lots of records show ghost dogs and horses haunt a place called berry pommery castle in Devon

Overs spirits of planes and trains have also been recorded

I don't know why this is but I hope it helps.

It depends on what you believe in. If you view the link below, there's some form of proof as to the fact that animal ghosts exist.

Well there have been many instances of people seeing ghost dogs or ghost cats roaming around, as well as horses.

I've not heard of ghost rabbits or anything else though, but that's not to say they don't exist!
