You can try calling Disney, but they won't always give this information out, but it is always worth a try.
If you want to plan your vacation in hopes that you will be there while it is recording, shoot for the first weekend of Decemeber. Generally they do a few days of taping for different shots and scenes, but the main portion of the parade is taped on the first Saturday of December.
Also, keep an eye on the Disney caldendar for events. Usually when they are planning to record the parade, the parades and such will have different times.
Sometimes you are able to pick when they will record it, but othertimes it will just a be a surprise when you walk in. But, for the past 5 years, at least, the recording has been on the first Saturday of the month.
A friend of mine went down there for the taping, they didn't live to far from Disney World. The parade recorded over a series of about 3 days, between getting extra shots and things. They kind of new the one cameraman. When they watched the parade on TV, they were in the parade, two times. But the funny thing was, they had different clothes on each time.
Anyway, I hope this helps! Have a great time!
