Because they are too eager to see a film. I'm the kind of person who loves films but isn't bothered about seeing them ASAP anymore. I therefore wait for legit copies to appear in sales or in 2nd hand shops.

That said, I do have a couple of pirate DVDs and love the cack handed subtitling, noisy audiences and the bit during Gangs of New York where the man with the camcorder had to hide it from the cinema staff.

Dry your eye!!!
Threaten the film industry???
I think that the celebs could stand to lose a few quid!!!!
Pirates of the open seas or pirates of the dvds - both sound good to me!!!
If your copies are so bad then simply change your supplier and what harm have Chinese gangs ever done you?????
They are probably very kind to their mothers!!

I think it's the fact that many people get promised that the copy is good quality, but often turns out not to be, or is not the movie it promised to be.

It's best to find a steady supply who's straight up, and has good recommendation from several of your friends.

Becuase they think they are getting a bargain and realise when the quality is poor that its not.

Regarding ebay sellers, often they do hint its a copy, they normally come without a case and will hint that its a copy, dont forget to give them negative feedback if it is. You can check their feedback, I always do and if I see one person saying its a fake I dont buy.

I bought over 10 DVD's from different sellers on Ebay and most of them were copies. No where in the desciption does it say copies etc. I didn't like it at all and am shocked ebay is so greedy they let this happen.
