It depends on where on the temple you are hit and how hard. It could result in a blackout, concussion, blindness, or even death.

As the temple is the host to a bundle of nerve fibres, on being punched usually a black out happens- for a few secs to mins to hrs, depending on the strength of both the receiver n the deliverer. it is usually due to the sudden shock received that the brain gets a bit confused!!! Generally if done right it's supposed to throw the body equilibrium of sometimes resulting in a temporary knock out in som cases.A good example would be Muhammad Ali knock out of Sonny Liston in there second meeting.They called it the phantom punch.He was actually perplexed.
