The best way to over come a hangover is to not drink the night before. Having failed at that, if you don't have to drive or go to work a small drink or some Valium will help. But the thing is, if you have a drinking habit and you get into the pattern of using things like the "hair of the dog" treatment or prescription medications to compensate then what you really need to do is to quit drinking because you are showing the signs of the early stages of alcoholism.

Prior to having gone to bed you should have consumed at least two large glasses of water. Part of the hangover is dehydration. Water coupled with an asprin or two will more often than not leave you hang-over free in the morning. Unfortunately, you'll still feel like you're running on 5 cyclinders instead of 6 but better than being sick as a dog the next day.
If you already have the hangover...same thing. Water. it'll rehydrate and flush out your system.

The best way to overcome a hangover is to not get one in the first place. Whenever I am drinking at night I always take 4 Advil before I go to bed (Tylenol works just as well if that's your pain reliever of choice) and eat a little something starchy (like a PB&J sandwich). Then I don't wake up feeling like I have the flu.
Since you're already suffering I think you just need to eat something, take a shower, then take a pain reliever and benedryl. Go to bed and sleep until it's over.
Good Luck!

Now,this is something I know a little about.
Drink a boat load of water oncet you've shut the party down. Do not take ibuprofen or Tylenol as they react in bad ways with alcohol (think of your liver, man!). Eat prior, during, and after the party run. Another sure fire remedy is staying hammered, but in the long run this can have adverse affects both physically and socially.

Well, what everyone has told me is: in the morning have another drink of whatever you have a hangover from. I have yet to try it, that last time I got a hangover, I just couldn't handle it. I haven't had the stomach to drink since. Good luck.

before you go to bed drink at least a litre (pint) of water - most of a hangover is dehydration.
do NOT take Tylenol (or any other form of acetaminophen). it is quite hard on the liver by itself, together with alcohol it drastically increases the chances of cirrhosis of the liver!

not to drink at all is the best hangover cure, but if it too late for that for some reason a V-8 and motrin works very well.
