I agree that the Phil. government is very corrupt. However, I believe Martial Law (Philippine Style) is definitely not the answer. Why? Because it's been tried and has clearly failed. The current "rotate our leaders via coup d'etat every 5-10 years" approach is proving to be just a big a failure as well. What would work in my opinion? A modifed form of Martial Law, ala Lee Kwan Yew's doctrine over Singapore, could prove promising. Among its many virtues, it espoused radical and strictly enforced change, based on individual accountability and collective responsibility--beginning at the top of government and trikling down to the masses. It has worked for Singapore and may work for the Philippines. Singapore is economically, politically and socially the antithesis of Philippines at the moment.

Oo, i agree, our government (okay i am australian, but i am 1/4 Cebuano) is very corrupt. Jose Rizal, bless his soul, would be very disgusted in the government. The Philippines, would've been better off if it wasn't for Marcos, the Philippines was the technologically advanced nation in Asia until Marcos. But i dissagree with you about martial law, sometimes it can get outta hand! Just like in the era of Marcos....., but it is better (in a way) than a government like Singapore where most human rights are taken from the people, no rioting, political censorship in media. Most leaders in poor countries wanna exploit their citizens for their own personal benefit, the power, imagine what it would be like to run a country of nearly 90 million people!

any form of governance would suit any kind of nation just as long as the government officials, as well as the citizens, know how the chosen form of government would function. be it a leviathan dictator like marcos. if both parties would just act accordingly, dictatorship would not be bad.
the government is there to complete the state. without the government, philippines would be below the drain since chaos would be uncontrolable. the govrenment is there to help supervise and organize the state..
however, philippines is still on its way to full realization of its chosen form of government. since she is a democratic nation, her citizens technically understand that the democratic rulers are there to help make a government that is FOR THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE.
that is just by theory. in practice, on the other hand, the government does not understand that it was formed BY THE PEOPLE for the purpose of serving FOR THE PEOPLE, thus they are corrupted minds.
unless otherwise democracy is understood in its truest essence, both in theory and in practice, philippines would stil have that same redundant corrupt governance.
if fully realized, democratic government would serve everybody good.

human beings continuously make the errors of fake impact corruption. that's a complicated factor various the time we don't comprehend it is going on it sluggish that's as small as a flesh presser getting a family participants a activity, getting a chum out of a cost ticket, issues get undesirable while some one provide a million dollar activity deal and provides it to a chum understanding that individual now owes them. besides the pointcorruptiontion isn't precise on your face many time human beings think of a few factor is going on and it is not, and while that's, you do no longer understand until eventually plenty later. So catching some one in the act is amazingly problematic. And it is not in straightforward terms Filipinos, different basically hide it greater effective

i don't think there is wrong with our current president and i still think there are good politician out there. i absolutely don't think martial law would be a good answer, can't you remember what happen on marcos regime?
and a government is still needed in the philippines. if there is none, it would be total chaos because everybody would want to be in power.
i only think that filipinos should be a wise and educated voter. i mean, why do we keep complaining about the corrupt officials when it's the people who put them there.

country is too populated and its people are overlooked. A corrupt government gives its citizens and excuse for why it is the way it is. All third world countries have it tough. anyone who believes their country is corrupt while sitting in their home with a/c, food in the fridge, and money in the bank should be struck by lightning. People will only take so much suffering and will rise against the tyranny if it is willing and willfull. The future is in the peoples hand. I am not philipino, but we all have the need to survive.

Even with the government in the shape it is now I would believe it's better to have one then anarchy. Yes, the government has its problems but a lot of government workers still do their jobs and do it well. There's always going to be bad apples. I also like the freedom that the Filipino people have. We should remember the fact that we are able to complain about our government unlike some other people. We still have a lot to do but we're getting there. As of now, I happen to enjoy my freedom of choosing Starbucks or Gloria Jean's.

Power corrupts. If what you are proposing is done, then no country will have a government. You should also study other countries to compare. There's a lot of bad stuff going on around the world. I admire your idealism but we have to live in the real world where humanity is truly deficient.
It is up to people like you to continue to ask and expect changes and progress.

While corrupt, governements are needed to protect people and to aim for a brighter future.
Corrupt or not, a country without a government would be like a country with anarchy and caos.
