The question isn't specifically clear. But let me try.
The price. Diesel engines are expensive than the petrols. This amount varies from 30,000 to Rs.300,000. Depending on the class from which the car is chosen.
Power : Petrol cars are more powerful than diesels. But diesel are catching up fast.
Performance : Again petrol engines steal the show. However diesels because of the state of the art technology have become very refined & are narrowing the gap with the petrol engines.
Reliability : Petrols again win the battle. Diesels need more maitainence.
ECONOMY : This is what everyone wants to know. A litre of diesel costs much less than the same amount of petrol. But thats not all. Diesel engines are much much much more fuel efficient than the petrol engines. So the benefit is doubled. But its beneficial after a particular point of usage. Traditionally a usage of over 40 kms a day on an average makes up for the initial premium thats paid to by a diesel car.
And now there are a lot of diesel cars in the market to chose from.
You can tell your budget, usage & location .I can suggest you the right car.
Happy & safe driving.

petrol gives less mileage than diesel
in india you will see that a lot of people today are switchin' to diesels because diesel is more fuel efficient the diesel car gives a good mileage as well as good performace ...also, it;s cheaper than petrol
so if you are choosing a car to buy buy a diesel accordin to your budget
