Being an Indian teenager I would say that by 2025 India would be called a developed country.Presently India is a developing country and still many are below the poverty line.First step to take towards development is to eradicate poverty and create jobs for people.Another big problem is population. If this is controlled then I think India will march towards progress and become a developed country by 2020 or 2025.

It depends on the growth rate that India will have in the future.
it needs a lot of investment in Education... especially in the rural arears. They are spending 20 bln$ on military! Well.. that's really "smart" when 1/2 the people are in poverty and don't have access to education.

I think the growth rate of the economy will drop. It will be slightly higher than in US. But it'll take india FOREVER to become Developed becuase Developed is a RELATIVE term to other countries! It's not the GDP that matters... rather the GDP/capita is what's really important! I dunno what's the GDP/capita in India right now ... somewhere around 2000$/capita while in USA it's 38000. That's 19 times better!
Sure INDIA is a VERY developed country if we go back 100 years ago! It would be the richest in the world!
But relatively... it's still one of the poorest countries in the world TODAY!.
And in this life... India will not be RELATIVELY rich with other countries! I know that's NOT what you want to hear!
Indians do have a lot of potential... they export a lot of csophisticated eqipment and software, and i belive future will be optimistic for indians... but still there is no way they will reach the standards of living of americans! because americans are good at making new ideas... which is far more rewarding than building american ideas!

Atleast 50 years. But the fellow who talked about cows in streets should know that this is happening after 300 years of foreign rule. Only after 59 years after Independence, the very people have to look for safer IT space in India even as India is planning to send a sattelite to the moon. Don't worry, even as the cows are on the streets, your deep slumber will be disturbed when you have to call India as a Superpower and developed country.

India's software exports alone are around $10 billion(2003).

In 2003, India joined a select club of nations having foreign exchange reserves exceeding $100 billion.

India's 2002 output of $597 billion ranked it 12th in the world.

India's 2002 figure of $2.66 trillion makes it the fourth largest in the world.

Military expenditures
$19.04 billion (2005 est.)

To give in detail about it , the space is not enough.

It will take as long as it does for them to stop breeding like rabbits when they can't even feed themselves...

If you have no food why are you having kids?
You want to see them starve???
