LOL... being an x-ray tech you would think you would know the answer more than anyone... but it maybe possible thatyou are a x-ray tech but not a nerdy star trekie... anyways im not either but i would think that the difference between the two is the amount of focused energy.... where as our technology today is very limited, we are only able to project a very small amount of photons.. where as the "enterprise" (i think that is right) can focus the photons and thus creates a dangerous amount that can harm things.... much like a laser.... this is just a guess.... but maybe it will help!

a Photon is just light or.. Electromagnetic radiation.
X-rays are also light just a different frequency of light. What you see at the hospital is a shadow, the x-ray passes through skin but is blocked by bones and organs so you see a shadow of bones and organs.

I suppose on star trek a "photon torpedo" might be some kind of radiation weapon.

Reality vs. Fiction!
the difference is YOUR Imagination! What if?!
Like, What if Microsfot.com and Hotmail.com didn't trust the Microsoft OS for their 30,000 servers?
Oops, it isn't Fiction! They run Linux! It's 8X faster, FREE, and, Virus free, hacker-proof!
Get yours!
