Sure will.

Ok, first, when you ask me what a mixture is, I should also define what a compound is.

A mixture is two or more things that are physically combined. This means that you have different things that are all stirred together, but it doesn't change any of their properties. For example, if you throw paperclips, erasers, and markers all in a bowl and stir them together, you have a 'mixture' of all the items. However, when you look at them, they're still what they were before. The erasers are still erasers. The markers are still markers. The paperclips are still paperclips.

If you want a more chemical example, think about mixing water and oil. Notice that the oil stays on the surface of the container, and the water is on the bottom. The chemical properties do not change because there is no reaction.

A compound is two or more things that are chemically combined, and the properties of the things change. For example, if I mix salt in water, the salt dissolves. Therefore, the properties of salt chemically change. Salt, before going into water, is made up of Sodium (Na) and Chlorine (Cl) ions which are connected togehter. When you put salt in water, the salt breaks up so you have Sodium and Chlorine ions in the water floating around, and they are no longer connected. Another example could be placing iron in water. What happens? A chemical reaction! It rusts!

Hope I helped!

****Note: The guy said above that sugar and water forms a mixture. It doesn't. Sugar will dissolve in water, therefore it's not a mixture becuase it's chemically changed.

A mixture is 2 or more pure substances PHYSICALLY combined not chemically bonded. A pure substance is ONE type of atom OR molecule, like silver, Ag, or water, H2O. Throw 2 pure subtances together and you get a mixture, like sugar water.

mixtures are of 2 type
hetrogeneous
and homogeneous
homogeneous have all the components in same ratio whereas heterogeneous have different proportion
eg if sugar is not completely dissolved in water , it has different amount of sugar in water- heterogeneous mix
ex of homogeneous is bronze
