I can just be sitting on the couch or a chair and i'll just fall asleep even when i've gotten 10-12 hours sleep the night before. Is this normal?

Definitely. When I was pregnant, that was the only symptom I had--not even morning sickness. But I could easily sleep all night for more than I ever had and take several naps during the day. I think the baby may need you to shut down a little more so it can get on with growing.

Totally normal!!! One of the pregnancy books I read (don't remember which one) stated that just sitting there, you body is still exerting the same energy that it takes to climb a mountain!! So include a few daily chores, and your doing a lot more than you are used to...

Personally, I think your body also know how little sleep it will be getting in a few months, maybe it's trying to make up for it before you start loosing sleep... but that's just my theory.

Yes it's normal. My advice is to sleep as much as you can, I slept about 14 hours a day in my first and second month, both pregnancies. Just make sure you drink lots of fluids, eat healthy foods, and take your vitamins. Talk to your doctor about it though, early on in this pregnancy I became anemic... which can make you really tired too. I was given additional iron pills and I felt like a new woman.
Good luck, and congrats.

Oh Lord, yes! I could sleep 24/7 when I was pregnant with my son. I don't think I ever finished watching a TV show or a movie because I'd be out cold.

Most women experience this during the 1st three months. Don't worry when you hit your 2nd trimester you will get a dose of energy and fell up to par again

Yes Yes it is! I hated it. I am 11 weeks now and finally have energy again. Your body is working hard to help make the little one. Enjoy the extra sleep while you can!

its very normal, its your body telling you to slow down, the first three months can be like that, and you will get a boost of energy during the second trimester. its important that you listen to your body and get all the rest you need. good luck in your pregnancy.

In your 2nd trimester you should feel better. There are tremendous hormone changes going on right now that are making you tired. Congratulations.
