Hi
The question should be How India will solve the problem of Poverty.

If you observe closely Poverty is not actually a problem in itself, there are several problems responsible for poverty in India.
Number one is Population. With more than 8% growth every year, India is amongst the fastest growing nations. The GDP is also fairly high but when it comes to per capita income... owing to enormous population.. we are far behind many countries.
The only cure to this problem is spreading awarness in people about family planning.

Another problem is education.
Third is poor Infrastructure.
.
.
There will be many more. But the good thing is that government is working on all the issues with all its Political and financial limitations.
As an Indian I believe we are moving in the right direction towards becoming an economic superpower.

If we have the same Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan.Singh for another 2 terms, then that would be a possibility. Taking that he's seriously taking steps towards awareness of paying the Tax's, and improvement of the infrastructure, changing of most of the antiquated laws, taking serious note of the law and order, to name a few that come to mind right now. He's got an able Finance minister Mr. P.Chidambram to implement the financial aspect.

India has the capability to compete with the so-called advanced countries, it's just a matter of time for this to happen.

Our leaders and government are doing a lot to eradicate the poverty. But, it is on only paper. All the amount will be shared by the politicians, officials. We are spending a lot on poverty eradication, but no improvements.
Only the present politicians are all sent to Andaman Jail and bring some honest to their places, may be India could.
And it is required to contain the population increase. The population of Muslims is increasing and so is the poverty level among them. No face can be made fresh by donating 2.5% of your income, if you go on increasing the population.

Solving is easy, but you need some will to do it.
People need food , water, housing, infrastructure, education, jobs.
And in that order, capitalism will not make this , you need perhaps more centralized government with free hands, and make a lot of public projects, in wich the people will invest their work, ( example, state delivers material, people work, you solve the housing, educational institutions find the right architecture, and choose the right environment).
Also the big burocracy is a major enemy of implementig a viable solution, so that must be solved also public infrastructure, waterways, roads, canalization, electricity, phone, internet, education for everyone specialy woman.
You have a long road , but first there must be will of iron to get in the fight with the problems and pursue the answers and solutions with all resources .
I hate to say it but see China,if it needs to reloacate 3 000 000 people to make a damm, they do it. Perhaps there are problems with some solutions , but the will to make such project reality is the will that you need to solve your problem.

No! Poor folks usually have numerous babies (as other countries) and cannot afford to feed themselves. Can you imagine selling your baby/child to feed the brood? Or to support a drug habit (prevalent in the U.S.A.)?
Hmmmm. That's real ignorant.
