The worst was Johnson. LBJ pushed the Vietnam war with no regard for how it would impact the nation. All he cared about was a show of might and after sending all those guys into the nightmare that was Vietnam, he made no provisions for their special needs upon their return home.
Bush screwed up but he shows support for our military people when they return home. He makes special visits to returnees when he can and thanks them for their service. Still, we have people coming home crippled and being abandoned by the military like the guy they sent home without so much as providing a wheelchair. How can we be invaders then claim to be a peaceful nation? How can we claim righteousness while we destroy?
Guess its a pretty sad thing when a man messes up this badly destroying so much and still isn't the worst. (In addition to the lives lost here, we have lost dignity with the world through inhumane actions and blatent disregard for foreign relationships. Wow.)
FYI: It is not un-American to question the government. This country was built by people who questioned the absolute power of government. Questioning whether something or someone is right shows a person has a conscience, making this question a valid one worthy of discussion.

Not at all.

As for un-American, Franklin Roosevelt's embrace of state socialism, and his attempts to expand the Supreme Court so he could pack it with his cronies, his heavy-handed (and unconstitutional) interventions into the economy that kept the depression going, etc, was probably the most un-American anti-Constitution president of all time. Did you know that even after he was re-elected, FDR still blamed everything on Hoover? How's that for a scumbag?

LBJ, who did give us the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, also gave us the Vietnam War and the even worse War on Poverty of the Great Society plan.

Jimmy Carter was probably the most inept and ineffective and wimpiest president. With a stagnant economy, high inflation and high interest rates, and a gas crisis, the best Carter could do was to tell us to drive slower, wear sweaters and get used to the fact that America was failing.

I'm not excusing other parties' presidents, it's just that these ones are so readily identifiable.

May not be the worst but probably lower than the bottom 50%

Politically wise...his image may be tarnished. Being involved in unescessary war and the world "after 9/11"
Economically..may be better. He did keep the economy from downturning but if social security collapses in 50 years..Bush may be to blame.

Yet how was he elected to two full terms? Most bad presidents, ie Warren Harding, served less or only one term. Americans still love their moral values and that was why he was elected to two terms.

May not be the WORST president, but more like 3/4 down the list

Since I remember Roosevelt who was in charge during the financial problem in the 30's, Bush has his
awkward moments, but I can't say he was the worst, or is the worst.
How do these people get into office? Then the power makes them into lil tyrants, but the thing to know is that who can you trust to run the country.? Look at Carter, how peaceloving a man was he, and still did people love him or make fun of him. He's still doing loving things for people with the Humanity Homes. He still will get involved in meeting with people in other countries to calm them down.
He also is picked out as being one of the worst? So, no, the history will play out, and we will know that when people give up on their govt' and stop being involved. Do a service to your country by voting, because we are talking about the future here people, and only you can make a difference, yes you! Learn, educate yourself, run for office. Do what you can.!!

There have been some pretty bad presidents in US History who have done some pretty horrible things. Its amazing how uniformed some people are, or that we just forget about the past.

How about these presidents as an example:

1. Lyndon Johnson for Vietnam
2. Richard Nixon for Watergate
3. Bill Clinton for Monica, USS cole terrorist bombing
4. Jimmy Carter for worst inflation in history and the Iran hostage situation
5. Andrew Johnson for being impeached
6. John Adams for not stopping the war of 1812
7. Ulysses Grant for corrupt administration
8. James Buchanan failed to prevent civil war.
9. Warren Harding for corrupt administration.

I am sure the USA citizens under John Adams were pretty pissed that he got them into the war of 1812 and a lot of people died there. And how about the president who didn't prevent the Civil War? And how about the country ripped apart during the Vietnam War?

Have you lived under every president......argument over. How old are you? What are you comparing to?

Oh...sorry Brocktoon...did I push a button....ok...so your only 19 then with no life lessons or experiences...you probably still live with your parents......Historical records...have you gone through all of the records.....where? Online....yeah that's the best resource for you isn't it.....I am sure these so called records show peoples sentiment and whether they liked the president or not...I can come up with 2 presidents in my lifetime who I would rank below GWB.....Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter....how about you...how many presidents have you been alive under?

Yup a typical person who can't argue without namecalling....I am sure you don't have the balls to debate this with facts either seeing how you probably have none.

Whoa, we havnt lived under other presidents so we are not in a position to make a judgement about them based on the BILLIONS of historical records based on their policies and actions. Yea sure I havnt lived under all the presidents, but from WHAT I CAN TELL Bush is definately one of the worst in recent history.

I think he is a very bad president who led the US to wars in Iraq and recently he supports Israel to kill the so-called " terrorist ", and many innocent Lebanese people die.
bush accuses Iran and Syria, but I think that is untrue what he alleges, he has already lied to the American people, and he has so anti -Arab sentiment.

Let me see, starting a war against the will of the UN and based on lies, wrecking the economy, and that is just for starters, so I'ld say you'ld be right.
