I believe it has to do with the fact that children can be more resourceful. They clearly have no diffculty programming the parental control on their parent's TV so that their parents can't watch certain programs.

because only adults actualy spend time thinking about this stuff. Kids are just curious, a kid proof lid only slows them down a little they like challenges too

that is a really good question. maybe cause we think to hard and kids are simple mined.
