I've never bought a single song at one time, but the first album I ever bought was Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Californication' I was just a tiny kid when the ones before came out, I wasn't even alive for 'mother's milk' but I've loved them my entire life and will continue to do so until I die, and possibly after that.

Well, my first tape I ever bought was Now That's What I Call Music 1993! I bought it from Woolworths for £9.99

I got it initially for one song - "Mr Vain" by Culture Beat. Don't even ask...it was a shocking period of 90's trance. I was 11 years old and just liked the tune! XD

i bought a 7" vinyl of the A-ha song
I've been losing you. i was about 8 i think,
they'd just had the 2 big hits take on me and the sun always shines however i reckon this song i purchased was the beginning of their rapid downfall as it was complete "shite". It was for my birthday and my Granny bought it for me from Woolworth''s , i remember going in and asking for the sun always shines on TV and the girl working there told me this was their new single. Daft bastards .

I think it was Hard Headed Woman by Elvis on 78rpm.
It was sooooooo!! different to anything else that was going around at that time, and I felt so grown up because everyone else was still into Sinatra, and Nat King Cole.

Blondie - Heart of Glass a pure pop/punk classic and still sounds good today as it did back then.
